[VIDEO] Stop fighting for control: The surprising truth about raising thoughtful kids.

Reader,

Have you ever felt overwhelmed trying to get your kids to follow the rules, only to find yourself in a constant battle for control? You’re not alone.

Many of us fall into the trap of thinking that good parenting means enforcing rules and keeping kids in line. When we focus on controlling our kids, we often miss out on the bigger picture!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be taking a short break to tend to some long-overdue health matters.

During this time, I’ll be posting less frequently - but to keep you inspired and supported, I’ve gathered some of my most-loved resources from this year and made this video 🙇🏻‍♀️ to remind us of the bigger picture. 🌎

It's never really been about "parenting tips," but...

🫶🏼 To root out the dominance and control in our relationships with one another.

🫶🏼 To replace demands with compassion and respectful communication in our families.

🫶🏼 To partner with children to support their growth rather than demand their compliance.

🫶🏼 And to not use our position or power to rule over our children.

Force and control won’t teach kids to be better citizens of this world (even if it compels them to do a few chores). It does teach them how to overpower others to get their way. 🧠 Emotional flexibility develops when we feel understood by others.

🎯 The goal is to relate to our kids in ways that keep their dignity intact and their spirits unshakable so that they’re able to stand up for themselves and others.
